I’m a psychotherapist and coach with over 30 years of experience providing relationship and life coaching, as well as individual, couple and family therapy to help people of all ages deal with the complex stresses of modern life. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my Masters and Doctorate in Child Development and Family Relations from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I believe in the ability of each person to achieve health, wellness and wholeness. My therapy and coaching are based upon the philosophy that all of us have within us everything we need to be whole and successful. I provide individualized solutions for each of my clients and emphasize personal growth and empowerment. I accept and respect each person’s journey as unique and sacred. I embrace diversity and multiculturalism. I utilize the most progressive and productive therapeutic and coaching techniques available to maximize growth and accelerate performance and or healing in a safe and supportive environment.
I specialize in assisting partners, families as well as adult children in navigating the treacherous waters of dealing with naricisssistic individuals and the unique issues that arise in dealing with narcissists. In addition I specialize in helping people affected by both large and small traumas. I help people in dealing with all of life’s normal developmental concerns like work and work related issues, intimate relationships, having children, parenting issues and growing older. I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), energy psychology, reiki and hypnotherapy to facilitate more rapid recovery from trauma and to enhance performance at work, school and in sports. I assist executives, writers, musicians, actors and other creative and artistic individuals to overcome blockages that impede their ability to perform at their maximum capacity. I am committed to helping people become their most creative, powerful, productive and authentic selves by changing limiting belief systems and creating avenues for mindfulness, self-awareness, stress reduction, balance and healthy living. I provide group classes which educate people about the effects of stress on the mind and body as well as experiential exercises which create health and wellness. I also work collaboratively with other health care providers like my associates at Awakenings Health to maximize the potential for accelerated mind/body healing.
I have well over two decades of experience working with depression, adult ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder), DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) as well as other anxiety based disorders.
